The big drawback from exploring alone is no one is there to validate your experiences.
I had no plans to be able wander around this once amazing hotel with so much history and maybe a few haunts. As I wandered the halls, I was texting one of my friends some pictures. I know for a fact I was alone on this floor. I look up and see someone walk across the hall. Holy shit…did I really see that in the middle of the day? I make note of where I was and about what time it was. I do a quick walk back down the hall to make sure no one came up when I wasn’t looking. I wander down a floor because of course I started at the top and worked my way down.
The floor down had several workers that were so nice and spent a little time entertaining a crazy lady talking about ghosts. The small group tells me to go down the hall and talk to Ted. I wander over and Ted being super nice tells me about being up on the 5th floor, taking some rock to the chute. He was the only one on the floor. He turned the corner and someone walked by him. He turned to see who it was and no one was there. He tells me where about he was. I asked what floor we were on now and he said 4th. So it was the same area. I think I giggled out loud.
I know, I know. Believe or not. I can’t make up the shit in my life. I really can’t thank those guys enough for letting me wander the halls of this place. I can’t wait until it is finished and I can stay there in all of her new splendor.
